CGAA SERVICE HANDBOOK

Post by LND_5678 »

I am writing something for Chapter 4, section
"Becoming a Meeting Leader"

I will create either a Google Drive or MS OneDrive document and paste the link here. I think there's a way to share editing abilities on the document with other people.

thanks,

CGAA SERVICE HANDBOOK

Post by ADH »

We need to be mindful that this handbook is for EVERY group, not just the OOMG. So, it needs to be accommodating to the face-to-face groups. So, I was missing an item on the positions of greeter, treasurer, secretary, coffee person, literature person and group service representative.

On each service position there should at least be a description and some information on how to handle some common issues they might encounter.

CGAA SERVICE HANDBOOK

Post by LND_5678 »

Sorry, ADH. When I wrote my post in June I did not realize this was for all CGAA groups including but not limited to the Online groups. Thanks for stating that here so it's explicit that one is a subset of the other.

Here's an outline of service concepts and topics that I've been expanding for a while. I think it can be somehow merged with the one at the top of this thread that Major outlined a while back. There's a definite current need for some of this stuff, in particular guidance for new groups and for people new to leading business meetings. I'm motivated to put some time into writing.

general principles
• group conscience
• unity and traditions (drama, division, fragility)
• rotation
• autonomy
• group conscience process (vs majority vote)
• self support and prudent reserve
• group representation (right of decision)
group service
• groups (home, face-to-face, online, other)
• business meetings, quorum
• group service positions and terms
• elections
• meeting leader
• treasurer
• secretary / note taker
• business chair
• alt/co-chair
• delegate
how to run a business meeting
• leading
• participating
• note taking
starting a new group
• relation to CGAA as a whole
• delegate(s)
• listing on website
• autonomy and other traditions
• choosing a name (affiliation and not negatively affecting CGAA as a whole)
overall service structure
• General Service Conference
• CGAA International Services
• Board of Trustees
• Trustees
• Delegates
• committees
literature committee
• general principles
• workgroup committees
• literature approval process
the future of CGAA
• creation of an area level with delegates, groups with area reps
